DAVIS, Calif. – After dropping the first set, Long Beach State found its groove and cruised through the next three sets to defeat UC Davis, 3-1 [22-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-16] at the University Credit Union Center on Thursday night.

With the win, Long Beach State improves to 7-4 on the year and 1-0 in Big West action as the Beach has now won their last three straight contests.

Long Beach State hit .276 in the match and led UC Davis (5-5, 0-1 Big West) in all statistical categories. Giving the Beach a big boost on all sides of the ball was senior outside hitter Natalie Glenn. The product out of Southlake, Texas recorded her sixth double-double of the season as she registered a season-high 20 kills, 12 digs, three aces, three assists, and one block, while hitting .485. Her 20-kill performance was just one off of her career-best.

Also contributing offensively for the Beach were Abby Karich and Jaida Harris who finished the match with nine and eight kills, respectively. Karich added nine digs, while Harris chipped in two digs and two blocks.

The LBSU defense was solid as it kept the Aggies off balance. UC Davis was held to a .113 attack percentage as senior libero Jenna Giambi and defensive specialist Savana Chacon combined for 22 digs in the backrow. Giambi's 13 digs was a new season-high.

On blocking defense, senior middle blocker Kameron Bacon led the way with five blocks, while Ella Lomigora, Meyer, and Harris added two each.

Despite a Long Beach State timeout, UC Davis would go on to take the first set, 25-22.

The Beach came out determined in the second set as they went on an early 8-0 run to open up an 8-1 advantage over the Aggies. An ace from Glenn put the Beach up 12-4 as UC Davis utilized its second and final timeout of the frame. The Beach extended their lead to double figures (21-11) after a kill from Glenn.
