Janae Leovao In Top 5 Through Two Rounds At Leadership And Golf Invitational

Leovao sits five-under par after a second round 69 on Monday.
UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – Junior Janae Leovao leads Long Beach State after 36 holes at the Leadership and Golf Invitational, tied for fourth overall at 5-under par at Chambers Bay Golf Course with one round remaining to be played on Tuesday.
Leovao had a two-under par 70 in the first round and followed that with a 3-under par 69, making five birdies on the front nine to shar in fourth place at the Leadership and Golf Invitational, co-hosted by Washington and Seattle U.
Jasmine Leovao was second on the team, tied for 20th after two rounds at one-over par, shooting an even-par 72 before closing the day with a 73. Sophomore Andee Avery also had a second round 73 after a first round 75, finishing the day +4 and tied for 31st overall.
Madison Le was the first round drop score with a 76 before shooting 77 in the second round, while sophomore Erin Lee had a first round 75 before carding a 79 in the second round.
After the first two rounds, Long Beach State sits in seventh place overall, one stroke ahead of the co-hosts, Washington and within three strokes of both Grand Canyon and Gonzaga. USC leads the tournament with one round remaining.
