Women’s Water Polo Represented At 18U World Championships In China

A freshman trio will represent the Beach on the world stage this upcoming week.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Three Long Beach State players were selected to represent their national teams at the Women's Water Polo 18U World Championships in Chengdu, China. Freshman Brooklyn Plomp will represent Canada while two other freshmen in Daniela Quinzada and Rita Gurri Capel will be representing their country Spain.
The tournament will take place between September 15th until the 22nd. With 16 nations competing, Canada is in group C while Spain is in group A. Competition starts with Plomp and the Canadian squad facing Thailand. On Monday, Spain will play against Italy in their opening game.
Recently, Gurri Capel won gold with team Spain in the Women's Water Polo 19U European Championship in Zagreb, Croatia.
