LBSU PICKED FIRST; 2 ON PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
Long Beach State has been named the favorite to win the Big West women's soccer championship as the Preseason CoachesCoaches' Poll was released on Aug. 12 by the Big West.
The Beach received six first-place votes for a total of 91 points. Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly tied for second with 86 points. The Titans received three first-place votes, while the Mustangs received the final two first-place votes.
UC Irvine (76), UC Davis (63), and UC Santa Barbara (50) are next. Hawai'i and UC San Diego are tied for seventh (47). The poll is rounded out by Cal State Bakersfield (26), UC Riverside (18), and CSUN (15).
Brooklyn Antonucci and Liz Worden were named to the Big West Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Team.
Antonucci, a sophomore, was named second-team All-Conference to the Big West All-Freshman team in 2023. She was one of two freshmen on the first or second All-Conference teams.
