Charlie Forster and Clay Seeber finish in the Top 25 to lead the Beach to a sixth-place showing

MARICOPA, Ariz. – The Long Beach State Men's Golf team turned in a strong showing on the final day of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic and climbed four spots to finish in sixth place with a 17-under par performance. The Beach were led by Charlie Forster and Clay Seeber who both recorded Top 25 efforts.

Long Beach State battled the weather over the course of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic as the first day saw the tournament cut short due to lightning in the area. However, the Beach persevered and overcame some rough starts to finish strong.

"I'm super proud of the team and the way they responded to adversity," Long Beach State Head Coach Rob Murray said. "We really didn't have our best stuff all week and had to dig deep and find the energy to post a good finish."

Grand Canyon won the tournament with a 31-under par performance. Meanwhile No. 49 UNLV came in second with a 29-under par showing, while Iowa State rounded out the Top 3 with a 28-under par effort.

Junior Charlie Forster fired a 69 in the final round to finish 5-under par as he tied for 19th place in the tournament. Over the three rounds, Forster shot 70-72-69.

Seeber shaved five strokes off of his second round showing as he shot a 68 in the final round to secure a Top 25 finish. The senior would shoot 71-73-68 for the tournament with a 4-under par performance.

Sophomore Jaden Huggins shot 71-70-72 for a 213, 3-under par showing at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic.

Rounding out the LBSU performances were Jack Cantlay and Steen Zeman. Cantlay finished three-over, while Zeman concluded the tournament 8-over par.

The Wyoming Cowboy Classic was the Beach's final tune up before The Big West Championships which will take place April 28-30 at the La Quinta Country Club.

"This ends the regular season and should give us some momentum as we turn our attention to the postseason," said Murray.
