Play Suspended Due To Lightning At The Wyoming Cowboy Classic

The Beach sit in a tie for 12th place in a weather-shortened first day of competition
MARICOPA, Ariz. – Day one at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic was cut short due to lightning in the area. None of the 23 teams in the tournament made it passed the 15th hole of the second round. Long Beach State finished the first round in a tie for seventh, but by the time play was suspended, had dropped into a tie for 12th place.
Grand Canyon sits atop the leaderboard as the Lopes are 27-under par at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course. Behind GCU is UNLV which is 20-under for second place, while USC rounds out the top 3 with a 19-under par showing. The Beach are currently in a tie with Wichita State for 12th place as both teams are shooting 7-under par.
Jaden Huggins leads Long Beach State after firing a 71 in the opening round. He has shot a 55 thought 14 holes in the second round with a 2-under par performance.
Charlie Forster shot a 70 in the first round to place in a tie for 27th place at the end of the opening round. In the second round, he is shooting a 57 through 14 holes for a 1-under par showing.
Clay Seeber is at 1-over par after shooting a 71 in the opening round. In the second round, he was shooting a 54 through 13 holes at the time action was stopped.
Rounding out the Beach are Steen Zeman and Jack Cantlay. Zeman sits at 4-over par, while Cantlay is at 5-over.
Cantlay started strong posting a 68 in the first round. However, he struggled in the second round and at the time the tournament was suspended, he was shooting a 66 through 14 holes.
