LONG BEACH, Calif. – A day after finishing up competition at a challenging championship course in San Francisco, the Long Beach State Men's Golf team is heading to Maricopa, Ariz., to take part in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course. The two-day tournament will be played Monday, April 1 – Tuesday, April 2. Fans can follow all the action via GolfStat.com.
"It's a quick turnaround and a good field in Phoenix for the Wyoming Cowboy Classic," Long Beach State Head Coach Rob Murray said. "We need to get as much rest as possible and come out firing."
The No. 48 Beach will go up against 22 other teams in the tournament, including four other Big West teams. The competitive field is comprised of Air Force, UTEP, USC, Utah Valley, Grand Canyon, Southern Utah, Utah State, No. 49 UNLV, Kansas, Northern Colorado, Weber State, Saint Mary's, Iowa State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, Kennesaw State, UT Arlington, Wichita State, Hawaii, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, and host Wyoming.
Long Beach State will send its talented lineup of Clay Seeber, Charlie Forster, Steen Zeman, Jaden Huggins, and Jack Cantlay to the green. The quintet is looking to bounce back after playing against the elements on a championship course just yesterday. At The Goodwin, Forster led the Beach with a Top 25 finish.
