Long Beach State Wins 4 More Times On Final Day of Beach Opener

The Beach Take Home Top Honors 6 Times On The Weekend
LONG BEACH, Calif.—Long Beach State won four times on Saturday as the Beach Opener closed at Jack Rose Track.
MEN
Alex Kalmar was victorious in the 800m after posting a 1:52.61 performance.
Antonio Carbajal led a 1-2 in the 5000m for the Beach. Carbajal won the event in a time of 14:35.57. Quinn Garity placed second a little under a second behind (14:36.23).
Long Beach State won the 4x100m relay. The squad consisting of Naythn Scruggs, Tristyn Flores, Malik Harness, and Caleb Roberson recorded a mark of 41.25 for the victory.
Daniel Palacio was the runner-up in the pole vault (15-3).
In the long jump, Elijah Harris finished fourth (24-1 3/4), with Novye' James coming in seventh (22-11 3/4).
The shot put saw Jaylon Wells come in fourth (54-10 3/4) and Aiden Pastorian place seventh (52-10).
Jay Brown placed seventh in the 800m (1:55.14).
TJ Wiggins tossed 173-8 in the discus to finish seventh.
The 4x400m relay consisting of Anthony Coleman, Tristyn Flores, Harness, and Naythn Scruggs finished seventh (3:23.47).
Brandon Day was 10th in the 1500m (3:58.21).
Milo Orona and Aiden Turner tied for 10th in the high jump (6-3 1/4).
WOMEN
Freshman Charlotte O'Connor won the pole vault in her debut for LBSU. O'Connor cleared 12-7 1/2.
Three other Long Beach State entries were in the top five in the pole vault. Anne Murphy was third (12-1 1/2), while Natasha Tehrani and Maggie Lear tied for fifth at 11-7 3/4.
Hailey Fune' finished second in the 100m hurdles (13.77). Fune' tied with three others for seventh in the high jump (5-1 1/4).
The 4x100m relay of Rahni Turner, Kaitlyn Williams, Sofia Lavershina, and Daryana Hall were second after running 46.78.
Giszelle Hrehor earned fifth place in the shot (41-1 3/4).
In the long jump, KiiKii Brown (18-7 3/4) and Riley Millard (18-1) were ninth and 10th respectively.
Keeley Rasmussen was eighth in the discus (128-7).
Long Beach State returns to action on Mar. 15 when the Beach heads to the Challenge Cup, which Cal State Fullerton hosts.
