MILLBRAE, Calif. – Senior Angelina Kim led Long Beach State after the first day of action, sitting in the Top 20 after two rounds of play at the Silicon Valley Showcase from the Green Hills Country Club.
Long Beach State shuffled the lineup due to a number of circumstances, leaving sophomore Jasmine Leovao in Long Beach due to illness and swapping freshman Erin Lee into the lineup for sophomore Madison Le, who was originally scheduled to return to the full lineup for the Beach.
Kim had the best round of the day for Long Beach State, a first round 75 before a second round 76, tying for 17th overall as the top finisher for the day. Janae Leovao matched Kim for the best round of the second 18 with a 76 after a first round 78, finishing in a tie for 26th overall.
Freshman Andee Avery finished with a second round 77 after a first round 79, and freshman Erin Lee had a counting score in both rounds, firing a first round 79 before an 80 in the second round on the day.
Playing as an individual in her return to competition, Le shot an 80 in the opening round before retiring and not playing the second round.
