
Montgomery Named Big West Pitcher of the Week

The sophomore righty did not give up an earned run in Sunday's victory
LONG BEACH, Calif.---Long Beach State's Kellan Montgomery was named Big West Conference Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 26. This is the first time that Montgomery has earned the honor.
Montgomery threw seven innings in the Dirtbags 4-1 victory over Omaha on Feb. 25. The sophomore allowed four hits, one unearned run, and struck out seven as Long Beach State completed a sweep of the Mavs. The sophomore righty did not give up a walk, throwing 93 pitches and 65 for strikes. Montgomery has struck out 12 in two starts that have comprised his 12 innings of work this season. He currently has a 0.75 ERA.
Long Beach State swept Omaha in the weekend series and is 5-0-1 to start the 2024 season. The Dirtbags travel to UCLA on Wednesday night. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
