Long Beach State Battles To Remain In Top 3 Heading Into The Final Round Of The John Burns Intercollegiate

The Beach are three strokes behind the leader through two rounds after dealing with strong winds during last 10 holes

LIHUE, Kauai – Long Beach State battled hard on day two of the John Burns Intercollegiate after dealing with brutal winds heading into the last 10 holes. The Beach currently sit in third place and are only three strokes behind the tournament leader, No. 9 Arizona.
 
Leading the Beach is senior Clay Seeber, who currently is tied for fourth place with a total score of 5-under par. With five birdies and an eagle on the sixth hole, Seeber is three strokes behind the tournament leader.
 
Isaac Rodea climbed two spots on the leaderboard after bringing his tournament total to 1-under par. Rodea finished the second round with four birdies.
 
Jack Cantlay and Charlie Forster sit at even par after their second round performance. Forster posted an eagle on the sixth hole.
 
Jaden Huggins, who is competing as an individual, went 1-under par during his second round bringing his total score to 2-over.
 
Alejandro de Castro Piera ended his round with three birdies as he brings his overall score to 3-over par heading into the final round.
 
Following No. 9 Arizona on top of the leaderboard is Grand Canyon, who holds a tournament score of 7-under par. Utah sits in fourth place with a score of -5.
 
The Beach will compete in the final round of the John Burns Intercollegiate Saturday, February 17. Teams will tee off at 9:30 (HT). Beach fans can follow along at SmartGolf.
