Softball Announces Loaded 2025 Schedule

Long Beach State will play top opponents throughout the season in addition to hosting two tournaments in 2025.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Kim Sowder and the Long Beach State Softball program have announced their 2025 schedule that features marquee games, exciting league series and two home tournaments in an exciting slate for the year.
After beginning the season with five games in a tournament hosted by Stanford, Long Beach State will get right to business, hosting four-time defending champions No. 1 Oklahoma in the team's home opener on Sunday, February 9. That kicks off a week of thrilling softball at the LBSU Softball Complex, as the Beach hosts Winthrop and San Diego in single games before the first of two tournaments hosted by LBSU begins on Thursday, February 13.
Long Beach State will take on Oregon State, Saint Mary's, Kansas and Iowa State in the Wilson Tournament, highlighting four days packed with action from the LBSU Softball Complex. The Beach will once again take part in one of the largest and most recognized non-conference tournaments in the nation at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, then return to the LBSU Softball Complex for the annual Louisville Slugger Invitational which will see the Beach take on Utah Tech, Omaha, Loyola Marymount and Pittsburgh.
The Big West conference schedule begins March 7 on the road at Hawai'i, and then the Beach will host UC San Diego in a three-game series as well as Northern Colorado to wrap up the home slate in March.
April kicks off with another massive week. The Beach will host Ohio State on Wednesday, April 2, before taking on Cal State Fullerton in a rivalry series at home on April 5 and 6. After playing UC Santa Barbara on the road, the team will host UC Riverside for a league series and then play their annual matchup with UCLA on the road in Easton Stadium on Tuesday, April 22.
The regular season will close for Long Beach State with a three-game home series on May 2 and 3 as the Beach hosts Cal Poly. 2025 will then mark the first season of the newly instituted Big West Championship for Softball. Hosted by Cal State Fullerton at Anderson Family Field, the championship will be the first of its kind for the Big West, as the winner of the tournament will earn the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Big West Championship will be held in Fullerton starting on Wednesday, May 7 with the top six teams qualifying in a double-elimination format.
