Long Beach State Softball Adds Five In the Early Signing Period

Five incoming freshmen from Southern California across multiple positions have committed to come to Long Beach State.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Softball stayed local and found five tremendous recruits to help the Beach starting in the 2026 season as the early signing period began this week. Kim Sowder and her staff are excited to have this group join the Long Beach State softball legacy.
 
                "They're hard working, talented, great teammates, excellent students and hungry to come in and have a positive impact on our program and University," said Sowder.
 
Elissa Guerrero | Catcher | Whittier, Calif.
 
A power-hitting catcher who plays for La Serna High School, Elissa Guerrero has had three solid season for the program, particularly as a sophomore where she hit .457 with 6 home runs and 31 RBI.

"Elissa is power through and through. Offensively, her power and consistency stand out on any field. She has the ability to drive in a lot of runs for us. Behind the dish, I love the way she commands the field with her presence and voice."
 
Audrey Lopetegui | Pitcher | Torrance, Calif.
 
Audrey Lopetegui is a right-handed pitcher who was the Daily Breeze Player of the Year as a junior for her efforts in the circle with West High School in Torrance. A first team All-CIF selection and the Pioneer League MVP, Lopetegui finished with a 14-4 overall record, striking out 104 and posting a 1.32 ERA with four shutouts.

"Audrey competes whole heartedly for her teams every time she's in the circle. She gets better and stronger every time we watch her. We're excited to have her work ethic, passion for the game and talent as a leader in the circle."
 
Pricilla Ramirez | Pitcher | Whittier, Calif.
 
Pricilla Ramirez is a power pitcher with 349 total strikeouts in three seasons of high school softball at Whittier High School, including 166 strikeouts in 103.1 innings last season, which earned the junior both all-league and All-CIF honors. Ramirez has posted an ERA under 2.00 in all three of her high school seasons, and posted a 13-4 overall record last season.

"Pricilla is a great competitor in the circle with a great mix of speeds in her arsenal. Her variety of pitches and command will be a great addition to our pitching staff."
 
Nina Sepulveda | Middle Infield | Lancaster, Calif.
 
A three-time all-league selection and offensive player of the year at Quartz Hill High School, Nina Sepulveda brings a solid offensive game in addition to a strong defense in the middle of the diamond. In 2024, Sepulveda batted .472 with 35 RBI and four home runs along with eight doubles.

"Nina is an outstanding defender at both the middle infield positions. She plays with outstanding consistency which is what we strive for in our defense. She is a high average hitter that makes things happen with her bat."
 
Kali Su'e | Outfield | Long Beach, Calif.
 
Kali Su'e is a local product out of Long Beach who played for Banning High School, patrolling the outfield while putting up big numbers, hitting over .500 in each of her three seasons played so far. A three-time first team all-league selection, Su'e was the offensive player of the year as a junior and has been an two-time All-CIF City Section honoree.
 
Sowder on Su'e:
"Kali is a tremendous defensive outfielder who can cover a lot of ground for us. She is a triple threat at the plate with great speed and always has good at bats."
 
Softball kicks off the 2025 season on February 6 from Stanford.
