Men’s Golf Finishes Fall Schedule At Cal Poly Invitational

The tournament will be held October 28-29 at The Preserve Golf Club in Carmel Valley.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Men's Golf will finish off their fall schedule by facing a strong Western-based field at the Cal Poly Invitational, beginning on Monday at The Preserve Golf Club in Carmel.
The Beach is currently ranked No. 37 in the nation, and will face a solid field at the Cal Poly Invitational. The field features nine teams in the Top 60 including the Beach along with GCU, California, Colorado State, Utah, UCLA, Loyola Marymount, Oregon, and San Diego State. The hosts, Cal Poly, will field two teams while the field is rounded out with Oregon State and Fresno State.
Seniors Clay Seeber and Charlie Forster will once again lead the lineup for Long Beach State. The pair have both finished in the top three for the team in each of the team's first three tournaments this season, and lead the team in stroke average on the year. Seeber will lead the lineup in Carmel, coming in off of 12th place finish in each of his last two tournaments, including a low round of 69 at the Badger Invitational. Forster has the team's lowest stroke average this season of 70.3, and has twice finished in the Top 10, including a tie for eighth place in Wisconsin last time out.
Senior Steen Zeman will make his season debut at the Cal Poly Invitational as well. Playing third for LBSU, Zeman was a regular presence for the Beach last spring, playing a major part in the team's Big West victory with a sixth place finish at the Big West Championship in 2024.
Junior Alejandro de Castro Piera has had an excellent fall, leading the team at the William H. Tucker Invitational with a Top 5 finish before a Top 10 finish at the Badger Invitational with a season-low round of 63, and will play fourth. Jaden Huggins rounds out the lineup for the Beach, participating in all four tournaments this fall with a high finish in the Top 20 at the Ram Masters Invitational in Fort Collins.
