Men’s Golf Comes In Second At Badger Invitational

Charlie Forster with a hole-in-one gave the Beach a lift in the final round Tuesday.
MADISON, Wisc. – Long Beach State battled through the final day at the Badger Invitational and shared runner-up honors with the hosts, Wisconsin, to close out the tournament on Tuesday.

Charlie Forster climbed up the leaderboard with a one-under 71 on Tuesday, helped by a hole-in-one on eight to close out the tournament tied for eight place overall. He shared that mark with yesterday's team leader, Alejandro de Castro Piera, who also finished in the Top 10 tied for eighth after a 74 on the final day.
Jaden Huggins had his best round of the tournament finishing with a 74 as well, while Clay Seeber shot a 76 as the team's final scorer. Jack Cantlay carded a 77, while Tiger Tahvildari, playing as an individual finished off his first Division I action with a 78.
Long Beach State as a team had the third-best round of the day Tuesday, but Northern Illinois held off the Beach and the Badgers with the day's best round to claim the team title.
"A real grind all day, working through tough conditions and we just never got anything going," said head coach Rob Murray. The highlight was Charlie's hole in one but otherwise we didn't have our best stuff to get across the finish line and collect the win."
Long Beach State will be off of competition for a few weeks before closing out the fall schedule at the Cal Poly Invitational October 29 and 30.
