Long Beach State Wins Eight Times On Final Day At Air Force

Kaitlyn Willams Takes Top Honors In 60m & 200m
USAFA, Colo.—Long Beach State won eight times as the Air Force Lindeman Classic ended on Saturday at the Cadet Fieldhouse.
WOMEN
Kaitlyn Williams earned two victories to pace Long Beach State. Williams was the 60m winner after posting a time of 7.60aa. She returned later to win the 200m after going 24.66aa.
Sofia Lavreshina followed her record-breaking 400m preliminary performance by going 54.86aa to take home top honors in the finals. Daryana Hall lowered her time in the finals to 59.78aa to place seventh.
Rahni Turner led a 1-2-3-4-5 LBSU sweep in the 60m hurdles. Turner won the event in a time of 8.57aa. Hailey Fune' (8.60aa) was second, followed by Amyah Davis (8.91aa). Sofia Bailey (9.00aa) finished fourth, with Jenelle Hurley coming in fifth (9.23aa). Alli Bryan (9.45aa) rounded out the Beach runners in the finals in seventh.
The mile relay of Turner, Lavreshina, Jayda Rustemoglu, and Davis won the event by nearly 10 seconds as the LBSU team put up a 3:58.18aa.
Rustemoglu went 7.87 in the 60m to earn third in the race.
Bailey paced LBSU in the shot put as she finished fifth (38-2 1/4). Giszelle Hrehor reset her Long Beach State indoor best in the shot when she posted a toss of 38-0 3/4 for a sixth-place finish.
Hurley and Fune' both went 5-5 in the high jump, with Hurley being awarded third place via tiebreaker.
MEN
Patrick Henderson was victorious in the 400m finals after running 48.94aa. Caleb Roberson was fourth (49.55aa), while Omri Shiff (50.74aa) was seventh.
LaSalle Jackson and Novye' James went 1-2 in the triple jump. Jackson won the event with a leap of 50-5 1/2, the sixth-best performance in school history. James' 50-1 3/4 is the eighth-best in school history.
The mile relay of Justin Watterson, Henderson, Roberson, and Malik Harness charted a time of 3:24.16 to win the race.
Cyprus Rice finished second in the Invitational Pole Vault. The top collegiate, Rice, posted a leap of 16-2 3/4. Aidan Turner's 14-7 1/4 earned him a seventh-place finish.
Watterson and Harness were 3-4 in the 200m. Watterson's third-place showing was a result of a time of 21.86aa. Harness' fourth was in a time of 21.92aa. Harness placed fourth in the 60m earlier in the day after running 6.94aa.
Jaylon Wells recorded the ninth-longest shot put toss in school history, 55-3 3/4, to finish fourth in the event. Aiden Pastorian was fourth (53-7 3/4), with Canaan Wharry placing seventh (50-4).
