Clayton Andrews Makes MLB Debut with Milwaukee Brewers

Dirtbag alum, Clayton Andrews, is the 54th Dirtbag to make their major league debut.

PITTSBURGH, Penn. – Clayton Andrews got the call on Saturday, making his major league debut with the Milwaukee Brewers in Pittsburgh. He is the 54th LBSU baseball alum to reach the majors and first since 2021.
 
A left-handed pitcher, Andrews has been dominant out of the bullpen in AAA this season, posting a 1.65 ERA in 25 games before his promotion. In 32.2 innings pitched, he owned a 0.98 WHIP while striking out 41 opposing batters.
 
Once ranking among the Brewers' Top 30 prospects, he owns a career 15-6 record with a 3.05 ERA in 99 career minor league games. Totaling 144 innings, he has recorded 202 strikeouts compared to just 61 walks with a 1.078 WHIP.
 
The Rohnert Park native was dominant in his lone season of 2018 with the Dirtbags. As a two-way player, he posted a 1.99 ERA in 99.2 innings while slashing .302/.382/.377 at the plate. His 118 strikeouts on the mound still ranks tied for ninth most in program history for a single season. He was ultimately named an All-Big West First Team selection.
 
Andrews joins a list of active Dirtbag alum in the bigs that features Evan Longoria, Matt Duffy, Jeff McNeil, Garrett Hampson, and Jarren Duran.
