Powell Named Second Team All-American by USTFCCCA

Junior Kash Powell finished 16th in the men’s 800m semifinals last week.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State's Kash Powell has been named a Second Team All-American by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The official list of honorees was announced on Monday.
Running a 1:48.49 in the semifinal race last Wednesday, he finished 16th overall of the 24 competitors. It was a 14-spot improvement in his NCAA rank after beginning the postseason ranked 30tha in the nation for the event.
The Australia native becomes the 76th All-American in program history and fifth distance runner to earn the distinction.
Powell's All-America honor caps off a 2023 campaign that saw him break the 800m school record at the NCAA West Regionals, post two All-Big West performances at the conference championships, and total five event victories.
