WHAT'S COMING UP:          
No. 4 seed Long Beach State will begin its journey for The Big West Championship Title on Thursday, April 27 when the Beach face rival No. 5 seed Cal State Fullerton at the Barnes Tennis Center.

ABOUT LBSU:          
13-time Big West Tournament Champions, Long Beach State enters The Big West Championship with a 10-9 overall record and a 6-3 Big West Conference mark. LBSU ended their regular season with a three-game winning streak, defeating three conference foes. Ending the regular season on a strong note, the Beach captured the fourth seed. Peppi Ramstedt leads the Beach with an overall 23-8 doubles record, while Ramstedt and Rhona Cook own an 8-1 doubles conference record. Ramstedt and Cook continued to shine as a duo all season long. The tandem collected their 16th doubles victory on Thursday, April 20 against UC Irvine. In their last ten matches, they have garnered nine victories, including a nine-match winning streak. Ramstedt and Cook ended the regular season with an impressive 16-5 doubles record. Additionally, Mathilde Tranberg and Justine Dondonay concluded the regular season on hot streaks. Tranberg ended the regular season with a four-match winning streak while Dondonay ended the regular season with a six-match winning streak. Tranberg finished the regular season leading LBSU with a 17-16 singles record. Entering their quarterfinals match against Big West rival, Cal State Fullerton, LBSU owns a 45-18 record.      

ABOUT CAL STATE FULLERTON:          
The No. 5 seed Titans enter the Big West Championship with a 15-7 overall record and 6-3 conference record. To end their regular season, the Titans won their last two dual matches, including a 4-1 conference win over UC Riverside on Saturday, April 22. For the year, Kaytlin Taylor finished the regular season leading the Titans with a 13-5 singles record and a 12-5 doubles record.      

ABOUT THE BIG WEST CHAMPIONSHIP:  

The 2023 Big West Women's Tennis Championship will be played at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif., for the second consecutive year. The competition will be from April 26-29. In the Jenny Hilt-Costello era, she has led the Long Beach State Women's Tennis program to an elite level that has resulted in 13 Big West Championships. Their most recent appearance in the championship final was in 2019 when the Beach defeated Hawaii in a thrilling 4-3 comeback victory. As the Beach get ready for their quarterfinal's matchup against Cal State Fullerton on Thursday, April 27, the last time CSUF faced LBSU in a Big West Championship matchup was in the 2019 semifinals where the Beach got the best of Titans, 4-1. 

LAST TIME OUT:          
Long Beach State concluded their regular season with back-to-back conference victories against the Anteaters and Aggies. With both victories, Coach Jenny Hilt-Costello earned her 400th career win while the Beach captured the fourth seed for the upcoming Big West Championships. The Beach ended the regular season with an impressive 7-0 sweep against UC Irvine and a wire to wire 4-3 finish over UC Davis.
