Williams Named Big West Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

It is the fifth weekly honor for the Beach this season.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Kaitlyn Williams was named Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Monday. It is the first of her collegiate career.
Helping her team win their second consecutive Challenge Cup title, and tenth overall, she competed in the 100m Dash and Long Jump, as well as running a leg in the 4x100m. In total, she contributed 25 points towards the team's 186.5 points.
In the 100m, she ran an 11.49 to win the event be nearly half a second and set a new meet record beating the previous mark set by LBSU great Courtne' Davis in 2018. It also marks a new PR for the captain by 0.22 seconds and moves her into fourth on the all-time list.
Her and the 4x100m Relay team came out on top with a time of 45.39, just four-hundredths of a second shy of a Long Beach season-best. The quartet currently ranks number one in the conference in the event.
Not a track event, but Williams also competed in women's Long Jump posting a season-best mark of 5.80m (19-02.75) to finish second.
