Long Beach State will head to O’ahu to compete at Hoakalei Country Club for the second straight year.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State will aim to carry their momentum from The Beach Invitational into their second full spring competition, the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational hosted by Hawai'i.

Fresh off of winning Big West Golfer of the Month honors after tying for second place at The Beach Invitational, junior Hannah Ko will look to provide veteran leadership for the young Long Beach State squad. Ko has now finished in the top two for Long Beach State in all five full tournaments this season that the Beach has participated in.

Freshman twin sisters Jasmine and Janae Leovao will follow in the next two spots in the lineup for Long Beach State. Jasmine recorded a Top 10 finish at The Beach Invitational including a first-round 73, and also led the team with a third place finish at the Golf Iconic Classic. Janae Leovao led the team in the program's three other fall tournaments.

Angelina Kim was the individual champion at the CSUN/CSUB/LBSU tri-match in Ojai to begin February with a 3-under par 69, and finished in a tie for 11th overall at The Beach Invitational to play fourth for the team this coming week. Finally, sophomore Kristina Ponomareva will round out the lineup for Long Beach State. Ponomareva tied for the team lead at the tri-dual on February 1, and also finished in the Top 10 at The Clash at Boulder Creek to close the fall season.

In addition to the hosts, Hawai'i, a wide variety of nine other schools will be taking part in the competition. The field includes two western schools in Montana State and Sacramento State along with Georgetown, Middle Tennessee, UNC Wilmington, Rollins, Towson and Western Michigan. Additionally, one Japanese university will be taking part in the competition as well in Osaka-Gakuin.
