Beach Tennis Set For A Busy Three-Game Week

Long Beach State travel up north to face UC Davis, Saint Mary's, and San Francisco.

WHAT'S COMING UP FOR LBSU WOMEN'S TENNIS:

WHAT'S COMING UP:       
This week the Beach will begin a busy three-game road trip with a conference dual match at UC Davis on Tuesday, March 28 and end the week with back-to-back non-conference matches against Saint Mary's on Wednesday, March 29 and San Francisco on Thursday, March 30.  

ABOUT LBSU:       
Long Beach State enters the week with a 6-7 overall record. Peppi Ramstedt leads the Beach with a 17-7 doubles record. Ramstedt and Rhona Cook have been excelling as a tandem. The duo collected their 11th doubles victory on Wednesday, March 22 against St. Thomas. They are riding a four-match winning streak and currently own an 11-4 doubles record while Sheena Masuda and Justine Dondonay own an 8-5 doubles record. Additionally, Masuda has been on a tear in singles play. She is currently riding a five-match winning streak and leads her team with a 14-9 singles record. Entering their dual matches this week, LBSU owns a dominant 19-1 record over Big West foe, UC Davis, while also owning winning records over Saint Mary's, 5-4, and San Francisco, 8-0.   

ABOUT UC DAVIS:       
UC Davis comes into the week with a 6-8 overall record. The Aggies lost their recent match at Nevada 4-2 on Friday, March 17. They seek their third conference victory as they host Long Beach State at Marya Welch Tennis Center. For the year, Arianna Stavropoulos has a 10-3 singles record and a 6-5 doubles record.

ABOUT SAINT MARY'S:      
The Gaels begin the week 5-6 in dual match play. In last week's matchups, Saint Mary's split their contests by beating Santa Clara 4-0 and losing to San Francisco, 4-2. After falling to conference opponent, San Francisco, Saint Mary's looks to bounce back at home when they face Long Beach State on Wednesday, March 29. For the season, Stefanie Silva has a 12-7 singles record while Jordan Harris owns a 10-6 doubles record.     

ABOUT SAN FRANCISCO:      
The USF Dons are seeking their sixth-straight victory of the season. After starting 4-5 for the dual season, they currently now own a 9-5 overall record. Their recent win was a conference victory over Sant Mary's, 4-2. The Dons host Long Beach State on Thursday, March 30 as they look to snap an 0-8 record against them. Marla Martinez Vaquero leads USF with a 7-3 singles record and a 5-4 doubles record.  

LAST TIME OUT:       
For the first time in program history, Long Beach State and St. Thomas faced one another in dual competition. Long Beach State came out on top with a 6-1 victory as they concluded their seven-game homestand. The Beach have won back-to-back dual matches and seek their third win in a row as they take on UC Davis on the road.   

TENNIS TRADITION:        
The traditional player cheer pre-match and each time the team wins a match point is "Here We Go Beach" followed by all supporters in attendance then cheering the same "Here We Go Beach!"
