The Beach owned a two goal lead through 80 minutes, but a pair of late SDSU goals forced a draw.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State played to their second draw of the season, tying 2-2 with San Diego State. The Beach held a two-goal lead through 82 minutes, but the Aztecs tied the game in the final 10 minutes.

Summer Laskey broke the scoreless match in the 29th minute with her first goal of the season. After a cross in from Maddy Perez, Laskey passed it to Lena Silano at the top of the box. Silano sent it back to Laskey on the give-and-go for the right-footed finish at the near-post.

After 45 minutes, the Beach held a 1-0 lead and owned a 12-7 shot advantage.

Coming out of the break, Felicia Jastre Hogberg padded on to the Beach lead with the first collegiate goal of her career. After receiving a pass from Sophie Jones, the freshman striker juked an SDSU defender and launched it from just outside the box. Her shot went upper corner of the far post and into the back of the net to give LBSU a 2-0 lead.

Unfortunately, after 82 minutes of strong defense, San Diego State broke the shutout with a goal in the 83rd minute then tied things up four minutes later with the equalizer in the 87th.

Silano had a decent breakaway immediately after the goal, but her shot went high and wide in what would be Long Beach State's final chance.

With the draw, LBSU moves to 0-1-2 to start the season. They will be back in action for a Sunday matinee with the University of Washington. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. live on ESPN+.
