LaTanya Sheffield Named Head Women’s Coach of USATF for 2022 World Championships

Coach Sheffield will lead the United States at the World Outdoor Championships this summer.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Track and Field head coach LaTanya Sheffield has been named the Head Coach of the United States' Women's Track and Field national team for the World Outdoor Championships this summer. The news was announced by USATF on Wednesday.
This summer's World Outdoor Championships will be held in Eugene, Ore. marking the first time the World Outdoor Championships have ever been held on U.S. soil.
Coach Sheffield continues to be highly sought after on the international stage, most recently being selected to lead the women's national team's sprints, hurdles, and relays at the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympics as well as the 2019 Pan Americans where her athletes combined for 18 medals.
She has also served as the development chair for the USATF, advocating for athletes and coaches for the last 15 years.
Coach Sheffield and the rest of her staff will join the selected athletes in Eugene from July 15 through July 29, 2022.
