Jacquelyn Bickar Named Freshman Player Of The Week For Second Time

Bickar recorded only one out in a three-game series sweep of UC Santa Barbara.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – An outstanding series for Jacquelyn Bickar against UC Santa Barbra has earned the freshman her second Freshman Player of the Week award this season.
Bickar was retired only once during a three-game sweep of the Gauchos while leading the team in runs scored and RBI on the weekend. Bickar had a batting average of .833 with an on-base percentage of .875 while playing error-free defense at second base.
In the opening game of the series, Bickar hit a bases-clearing triple, and played a key role in the closest game of the series as well.
Bickar drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the second game of the series, and then hit a leadoff single before scoring the winning run in a 2-1 win over UC Santa Barbara. The freshman then closed the series by going 2-for-3 with two runs scored an and RBI in the finale.
Bickar was also named the Big West Freshman Player of the Week on March 21 after hitting .500 against California Baptist and in a three-game series at UC Riverside. She is the first multiple weekly award winner this season for LBSU.
