The Beach claimed their second match win on the final day of a three-match weekend in Honolulu.
HONOLULU, HAWAII - Long Beach State concluded the three-match trip to Hawaii with a clean sweep against Army
on Monday, 4-0.
"It was a solid win today to finish off the road trip," stated LBSU Head Coach Jenny Hilt-Costello.
The Beach (5-4, 3-1 Big West) won the doubles point after dropping the first set as Sheena Masuda and Zara Lennon
fell to Cooper Jackson and Paige Herremans, 2-6. However, Long Beach State bounced back strong with Nikola
Homolkova and Peppi Ramstedt winning against Paola Bou and Sophie Mckenzie, 6-1. Andreea Ciornei and Claire
Le Du clinched the doubles point 6-2 versus Julia Kelly and Jenna Sabile.
In singles competition, Long Beach State continued their momentum with Nikola Homolkova defeating Cooper
Jackson 6-3, 6-0 in the top flight. In the second flight, Zara Lennon added another point for the Beach against Paola
Bou 6-2, 6-0. Claire Le Du clinched the match, giving the young Beach team another match win versus Carolyn Ahn
6-1, 6-3.
Long Beach State returns to Rhodes Tennis Center for their next match on Friday, March 11 at 2 p.m. where they will
