Tyler Schafer finishes tied for third place at 6-under par

PALM DESERT, Calif. – The Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate wrapped up on Friday with Long Beach State finishing in the top five as the Beach was led by top finisher senior Tyler Schafer who fired a 6-under par.

The Beach finished at 2-over par, landing in fifth place and tops among Big West competitors. Charlotte won the tournament with 25-under par. No. 45 Nevada finished in second with a 7-under par followed by Wyoming and New Mexico State in a tie for third place with 1-over par showings.

Schafer had an impressive tournament, holding his spot in the top five all three days. Schafer finished the tournament tied for third place at 6-under par and 4 strokes behind the leader.

Jack Ainscough finished the day 1-under par to help him jump 15 spots and finish tied for 41st.

Ian Gilligan finished one stroke behind Ainscough, going 5-over par on the tournament. Steven Deutsch finished at 6-over par while Bryce Kvick finished at 12-over par.
