Long Beach State brings home another win against Dartmouth on Thursday at Rhodes Tennis Center
LONG BEACH, CALIF. – The Long Beach State Women's Tennis team bounced back after last week's close match against UIndy as the Beach earned a 6-1 win against Dartmouth (6-7).
The Beach (8-6, 3-1 Big West) quickly picked things up in doubles play with Nikola Homolkova and partner Peppi Ramstedt defeating Ashley Hess and Chidimma Okpara, 6-1. The point was clinched after Claire Le Du and Zuzanna Szczepanska's win over Chloe Yoo and Lexi Dewire, 6-2.
In singles action, Long Beach continued the momentum with another quick point from flight two with Zara Lennon winning versus Ashley Hess 6-0, 6-2. In the fourth flight, Claire Le Du gave another point to the Beach with her taking down Emily Zhou 6-4, 6-3. Freshman Peppi Ramstedt helped further Long Beach's lead and claimed another singles point against Jingyi Peng 6-3, 6-4. The Big Green went on to pick up their only singles point from Katie Weber with her victory against Sheena Masuda 6-4, 7-6.
Forcing a third set, but ultimately winning, Nikola Homolkova and Zuzanna Szczepanska claimed the remaining point for the Beach.
Long Beach State resumes Big West play against Cal Poly on Friday, April 1 in San Luis Obispo, Calif. at 12 noon.
