Jacquelyn Bickar Named Big West Freshman of the Week

Bickar hit .500 over four games last week as the Beach went 3-1.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – A strong week at the plate helped Jacquelyn Bickar earn Big West Freshman Player of the Week honors.

                Bickar hit .500 (5-for-10) over four games last week, starting all four as the Beach went 3-1. In addition to her success at the plate, Bickar played error-free defense at second base for the Beach over the series win at UC Riverside as well as a shutout victory against California Baptist.

                Against the Lancers, Bickar went 1-for-2, and then a had a huge game to open the series against the Highlanders. On the road at UC Riverside, Bickar went 3-for-4 with two RBI, a double and two runs scored to help spark an extra-inning, comeback win.

                Bickar delivered again in the series finale, scoring twice while going 1-for-2 in a 12-2 victory.

                Bickar is the first weekly award winner of the season for Long Beach State.
