LBSU Set to Compete in the New Mexico Collegiate Classic

The Long Beach State track and field team is traveling to the University of New Mexico to continue their 2022 season in the New Mexico Collegiate Classic.
LONG BEACH, Calif. –The Long Beach State track and field team is going to travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to continue their season this weekend. The meet will take place Friday and Saturday.

Friday's events will start at 11:45 a.m. with the Heptathlon's 60m Dash on the track and the men's Pole Vault starting at 10:00 a.m. on the field. The team continues at 8 a.m. on Saturday with the women's Pole Vault, and the running events will begin at 10 a.m. with the women's 60m Hurdles.
Among the teams competing are Arizona State, Kansas, LSU, Miami, San Diego State, TCU, Texas, and Texas Tech.
The Beach sent two astounding athletes to the University of Washington Invitational last weekend. Joseph Anderson, a junior transfer, made his Long Beach debut and ran the ninth fastest time in Long Beach State program history with a time of 8.24 in the preliminaries. He then improved on that mark, running 8.05 seconds to win the event and boost himself to third on the LBSU all-time indoor list. Charlie Vernoy, who earned a second best mark in LBSU history on opening weekend, competed in the 35-pound Weight Throw where he finished second in the event after throwing 20.11m (65'11.75").
