
Long Beach State In Seventh After Two Rounds At The Gold Rush

The final round tees off at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning at Old Ranch Country Club.
SEAL BEACH, Calif. – Hunter Pate fired a two-over par 74 in the first round, the low score of the day for Long Beach State who held steady in seventh place after the first round at their home tournament, The Gold Rush on Monday.
Playing at Old Ranch Country Club, Pate finished in a tie for 14th overall after the first day of play which featured two rounds at Long Beach State's home course.
Sophomore Hannah Ko also had a strong return to action after missing the end of the fall season. Ko had the low score for LBSU in the second round, a 75, and ended the day in a tie for 27th overall.
The Beach had the fifth-lowest team score in the second round, propelling the team up the leaderboard as both Vanessa Richani and Angelina Kim joined Pate and Ko in the 70s in the second round.
USC, the 2021 champions of the event, were the leaders once again after two rounds, one over par on the day, as Amari Averi and Katherine Muzi from the Trojans were the top two on the leaderboard.
