The Beach return to Southern California to take part in The Prestige February 21-23 in La Quinta, Calif.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – It's a quick turnaround for the Long Beach State Men's Golf team as the Beach will have one day of rest between the John Burns Intercollegiate in Lihue, Hawaii, to the start of The Prestige in La Quinta, Calif., on Monday, February 21. The Prestige is a three-round event that will conclude on Wednesday, February 22 at Greg Norman Course at PGA West.
The Beach are looking to build on their Top-10 finish last week at the John Burns Intercollegiate as Long Beach State sends Tyler Schafer, Bryce Kvick, Jack Ainscough, Ian Gilligan, and Isaac Rodea to the Greg Norman Course at PGA West. Tee off is scheduled for a 6:45 a.m., with the Beach starting on the back nine.
The Prestige is a 24-team tournament hosted by UC Davis and Stanford. In addition to Long Beach State, UC Davis, and Stanford, the tournament will consist of Cal Poly, Colorado State, Denver, Iowa State, Kansas, Loyola Marymount, LSU, North Texas, Northwestern, Oregon, Oregon State, Pepperdine, Princeton, San Diego State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, UCLA, and Vanderbilt.
Schafer, a senior from Long Beach, Calif., looks to continue the momentum from last week's tournament in which he shot 69-73-68 for 6-under par and a Top 10 finish.
