LBSU Men’s Golf Turns in Solid Showing in Second Round at John Burns Intercollegiate

Tyler Schafer leads Long Beach State shooting 2-under par after two rounds as the Beach move up to 12th place

LIHUE, Hawaii – The second round of the John Burns Intercollegiate wrapped up at Ocean Course at Hokuala on Friday with senior Tyler Schafer continuing to lead the Beach at 2-under par.
Schafer finished 1-over par today taking his tournament total to 142 for 2-under and tied for 22nd place.
Long Beach State climbed up two spots into 12th place after the second round. The Beach were 4-under par on the day and are 4-over par for the tournament.
Freshman Ian Gilligan shot an even par for the day sitting at even for the tournament and is tied for 33rd. Senior Jack Ainscough took three strokes off his first round score taking him to 2-over par for the tournament and is tied for 40th.
Finishing off the lineup, junior Bryce Kvick shot a 70 today to bring his total to 149 for 5-over par, while sophomore Isaac Rodea finished 3-over par taking him to 9-over par.
No. 27 Arizona continues to sit on top of the leaderboard after shooting 11-under par on the day bringing the Wildcats' tournament total to 24-under par. No. 38 New Mexico sits at 21-under par followed by BYU at 11-under par to finish in the top three.
Long Beach State will compete in the final round at the John Burns Intercollegiate on Saturday, Feb. 19. Beach fans can follow along via GolfStat.com.
