The Beach fell to No. 8 Arkansas in five innings in the second game of the day.
Long Beach State (1-3) struck first in the opening game against the Tigers. Loading the bases in the top of the second inning after a leadoff single from Cam Cecil, a sacrifice fly from freshman Jacquelyn Bickar and a two-run single from Sara Olson put the Beach on top 3-2.
Memphis (2-3) struck back by scoring a pair of unearned runs in the bottom half, but the Beach was able to add more insurance in the fourth inning. Marissa Caballero led off the inning with a double down the left field line. Sara Olson singled to score Caballero, and after an error put two on, Kyra Snyder singled to bring home two more runs to make the score 6-2.

Cecil scored again after leading off the fifth inning with a double, though the Tigers were able to pull back two runs in the bottom half on a single from Kendall Lee, making the score 7-4 in favor of Long Beach State.
The Beach pushed across a key run to keep the lead at four runs in the top of the sixth, and while the Tigers threatened in the bottom half, bringing a run across and loading the bases, Fernandez struck out Camryn Wineinger to finish off six strong innings of work in the circle.

Samantha Fowler came on for the Beach and worked a scoreless seventh inning to pick up her first save of the year in the 8-5 victory.
A disciplined No. 7 Arkansas took advantage of some early wildness from Long Beach State pitching in the first inning and never looked back in the second game of the day. After setting down the Beach in order in the top of the first, Mo Quinlan picked up the first out of the bottom of the first, but hit the next batter and then walked the next three as the Razorbacks got on the board and still had the bases loaded. Turning to Fowler, the Razorbacks scored three more off of two more walks and a sacrifice fly, taking a 4-0 lead after the first inning.
A three-run home run from Hannah Gammill put Arkansas on top 7-0 after two innings, and the Razorbacks went on to close out the game in five innings, winning 10-0.
Long Beach State closes out their time at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge with a fifth and final game Sunday morning. LBSU will take on Lamar with first pitch scheduled for 8 a.m. PT. Live coverage will be provided by FloSoftball.
