Long Beach State Softball Releases 2022 Schedule

Long Beach State has nine games against teams ranked or receiving votes in the 2021 final poll.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Head Coach Kim Sowder and Long Beach State Softball have announced their 2022 schedule which features 21 home games and as always games against some of the top programs in the country.

Long Beach State will start off the season by participating in a premier international tournament, the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge. The Beach will be making their third appearance in the tournament, and open the season against Memphis on February 11. The Beach will also have two cracks at ranked foes in that opening weekend, playing Washington and Arkansas in Mexico.
Returning to the states, the Beach will then take part in the Hillenbrand Invitational at Arizona, facing the Wildcats twice in Tucson. LBSU then makes their return to the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, facing off against Oklahoma, Southern Utah, BYU, Texas Tech and Oregon in one of the nation's top tournaments.
The Beach then closes out the non-conference schedule by traveling to San Diego for the San Diego Classic II before once again hosting the Louisville Slugger at the LBSU Softball Complex, which will feature home games against Boston, Iowa State, Sacramento State, UCF and Nebraska.
Home games in the league slate begin on March 26 when the Beach hosts UC Davis, with CSUN and UC Santa Barbara also coming to Long Beach for three-game series. The final home series will feature three games against CSU Bakersfield, with senior day set for May 8.
