Beach Volleyball Receives USMC-AVCA Team Academic Award

The Long Beach State beach volleyball team has been received the USMC-AVCA Team Academic Award.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State beach volleyball has received the Team Academic Award from United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for the the 2020-21 season.
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.
The Beach accumulated a team GPA of 3.68 for the 2020-21 academic year and have earned this honor for the first time in the program's ten-year history.
The beach volleyball program and all of Long Beach State athletics continued their excellence in the classroom totaling 68 student-athletes on the Big West All-Academic Team, seven of which came from the beach volleyball team.
