Johnathan Lavallee has been awarded his second All-American honor this season.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Johnathan Lavallee has been named a Second Team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA). He is just the fourth NCBWA All-American in the last 15 years.
The junior continues to add to his list of accolades after a career year. Not even 12 hours after being named an ABCA All-West Region First Team selection, he garners his second All-America honor.
He ended his season going a perfect 4-0 in his final four starts. In 30 innings pitched, he surrendered just two earned runs, good for a 0.60 ERA. He also racked up 39 strikeouts while walking only two opposing batters.
For the season, Lavallee posted an 8-1 record with a conference-leading 1.89 ERA. In 62 innings on the mound, the right-hander totaled 73 strikeouts while walking just 16 opponents. His .160 opponent batting average is the lowest by a Dirtbag pitcher since 2005.
Across the nation, he ranked fifth in the NCAA with a 0.82 WHIP, tenthh with 5.08 hits allowed per nine innings, and his 1.89 ERA ranked twelfth.
He is the first Dirtbag to receive two All-America honors in a single-season since 2018.
