Long Beach State Wins 2021 Big West Men’s Golf Championship The Beach win the Big West title for the first time since 2004 as all five players finished in the top seven

LA QUINTA, Calif. – The Long Beach State men's golf team took an early lead in the first round of the Big West Championships and never looked back as the Beach held a comfortable lead throughout, before winning the Championship Title with an 858 for 6-under par.
The Beach finished seven strokes ahead of second-place finisher, UC Davis, and were the only team to shoot under par in the windy and hot conditions.
Long Beach State was led by a solid group of five as all Beach players finished in the top seven. Sophomore Clay Seeber turned in an excellent showing to tie for runner-up as he shot a 214 for 2-under par (71-72-71).
Finishing in the top five for the Beach was senior Hunter Epson who shot a 216 for even par (71-71-74). Meanwhile, Tyler Schafer, Hunter Reed, and Isaac Rodea each tied for seventh with a 271 for 1-over par.
Schafer finished with a 71 in the final round after shooting a team-low 69 in the second round. Reed (74-71-72) and Rodea (71-72-74) continued their consistent level of play to finish the tournament strong.
Individually, UC Davis' Lucas Carper won the Championship with a 209 for 7-under par after shooting 70-67-72.
The NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship Selection Show will are on GOLF Channel on May at 11 a.m. (PT).
Regional play will be held May 17-19 and will take place at one of six sites across the country. Three of the six regional sites will have 13 teams and 10 individuals competing, while three will have 14 teams and five individuals. The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional site (six individuals total) will advance to the National Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., hosted by Arizona State.
