Breezy Wise Named Big West Player of the Week

The senior led the Beach with eight hits at Hawai’i, including three home runs.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Senior Breezy Wise led the Long Beach State offense in a dominant sweep of Hawai'i on the road, and was rewarded by being named the Big West Field Player of the Week.
Wise had two hits in each game of a four-game road sweep of Hawai'i, hitting .615 while slugging 1.462. The senior scored a team-high eight runs and had seven RBI, and hit a home run in all three conference games against the Rainbow Wahine.
In addition to the three home runs, Wise had a pair of doubles and reached at a .643 rate while starting all four games in the heart of the lineup in the five hole.
Wise joins Suzy Brookshire and Alyssa Gonzalez as Beach players now selected as Big West Player of the Week; Gonzalez is a two-time winner.
Long Beach State will play two Pac-12 teams at home this week, hosting No. 2 UCLA and Cal before closing out the regular season by hosting Cal State Fullerton with the Big West crown on the line.
