The No. 18-Ranked Beach Set for Final Regular Season Duals

No. 18 Long Beach State will play their final matches of the regular season in Northridge.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 18 Long Beach State (14-12) will play their final regular season matches as they head to up to Northridge on Saturday. They will face CSU Bakersfield at 12:00 p.m. and then the host Matadors at 2:00 p.m.
The Beach is coming off a pair of sweeps last week taking down the University of Saint Katherine. LBSU did not drop a single set to the Firebirds.
Heading into the final weekend before the Big West Championships, LBSU sits at third in the standings behind Cal Poly and Hawaii.
Mari Molina and Tyler Spriggs will look to lead the way once again this weekend as they sport a 15-7 overall record in the first flight. The duo currently ranks in the top five for most wins in the flight in program history.
Skyler Germann and Alice Pratesi still hold the best winning percentage among the Long Beach State pairs, going 15-3 (.833) in 2021.
ABOUT CSU BAKERSFIELD
-The Roadrunners come into the weekend with a 4-6 record and are 1-3 at neutral sites.
-CSUB is coming off a pairs tournament with CSUN where two of their duos won their respective pools. Prior to that, they picked up a pair of wins over Concordia (Irvine).
-The Beach has won all 12 matchups against the 'Runners including a 4-1 victory earlier this season.
ABOUT CSUN
-The Matadors enter the weekend with a 9-12 record with all nine of their wins coming at home.
-CSUN is coming off the pairs tournament with CSUB where Darbi Honeycutt and Mikaela Maughan went undefeated to claim the top spot. Prior to that, they went 0-3 against Grand Canyon and LBSU.
-The Beach has won all 14 matchups with CSUN, including a pair of wins earlier this season.
