Senior Holland Shourds was named to the first team after winning the individual Big West Championship.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Following the conclusion of the Big West Championship, the Big West announced its All-Conference honors, and senior Holland Shourds was named to the first team, while freshman Angelina Kim and sophomore Hunter Pate both earned Honorable Mention.
In addition to winning the Big West individual medalist at the Big West Championship, Shourds was the top finisher for the Beach in four other tournaments as well as the Black and Blue Rivalry Challenge. The senior closed the season with two Top 5 finishes. Shourds earned all-conference honors for the second time in her career, as the senior was previously a second-team selection in 2018.
Coming to the Beach as a true freshman in 2021, Angelina Kim quickly adjusted and by Long Beach State's second tournament was routinely in the team's top finishers, placing second on the team in five tournaments including today's Big West Championship. Kim was also the low scorer in day one of the Black and Blue Rivalry Challenge.
Sophomore Hunter Pate was tied for the top finisher for the Beach on a difficult course at The Saticoy Club earlier this year at the Bruin Wave Invitational, and was routinely a top three finisher for Long Beach State this season. Pate closed out the Big West Championship with an even par 72 on Wedesday and finished in a tie for 12th place overall at the Big West Championship.
Long Beach State women's golf has now had 24 first team selections, as well as six in the last three completed seasons.
Holland Shourds will become the third Long Beach State golfer to represent the program as an individual in the NCAA postseason, joining Kay Hoey and Kassidy Teare. The senior will compete in one of four regionals starting on May 10.
