LBSU Men’s Golf Wraps Up Action at the Thunderbird Collegiate

Isaac Rodea led the Beach with a 4-under par showing
PHOENIX – The Long Beach State men's golf team concluded the regular season with a 10-over par showing at the competitive Thunderbird Collegiate in which the Beach finished in a tie for 15th place.
TCU won the tournament with a 34-under par performance, while host Arizona State took second with 30-under par. Oklahoma State shot a 29-under par for third place, while Texas Tech (-28) and Oregon State (-23) rounded out the top five.
The Beach turned in their best performance in the second round shooting 1-under par for a 283. However, Long Beach State struggled in the final round and finished 10-over to tie Colorado State in the 17-team field.
Sophomore Isaac Rodea was the Beach's top finisher as he shot a 68 in the final round to finish 4-under par. Rodea completed the tournament shooting 72-69-68 to place in the top 25 among nearly 100 golfers.
Hunter Epson shot a 69 in the second round, but finished 3-over par after shooting 74 in the final round. Hunter Reed opened the tournament with an impressive 66, but finished 10-over par after struggling in the final two rounds.
Long Beach State will be back in action at the Big West Conference Championships which run from May 2-4 in La Quinta, Calif.
