White Named Big West Pitcher Of The Week

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Back-to-back complete game victories caught the attention of the league as senior Kellie White was named the Big West Softball Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

                White earned the honor after picking up a pair of wins last week. She opened the week with a dominant performance in a pitcher's duel with San Diego, striking out 10 in a complete game shutout. The Beach came away with a 2-0 win over the Toreros in that start.

                White was also the pitcher of record in a 9-1 win over LMU on Sunday. White struck out a pair and gave up just three hits while again going the distance and allowing just one unearned run.

                Over the week, White posted a 0.00 ERA and made 12 strikeouts in 13.0 innings, allowing just five hits. The senior has now thrown a complete game in all three of her starts in 2021.
