
LBSU in First Place as Sacramento State Intercollegiate is Halted due to Darkness

Clay Seeber sits at the top of the leaderboard with 9-under par
ELK GROVE, Calif. – The Long Beach State men's golf program was cruising on the first day of the Sacramento State Intercollegiate before play was paused due to darkness. Prior to sunset, the Beach led the way having completed the first round and were through 15-16 holes in the second round.
The Beach are an impressive 18-under par after nearly two rounds and are being led by Clay Seeber who sits atop the leaderboard with 9-under par. Seeber fired a 66 in the first round with six birdies, before coming back in the second and firing a 57 with four birdies before play was halted. At the time of the break, Seeber was three holes shy of completing the second round.
Hunter Epson is in fourth place overall after having shot 5-under par. He finished even in the first round, but thanks to four birdies and an eagle in the second round, moved up in the leaderboard and was shooting a 55 with three holes remaining before the stoppage.
At the time of the break, Isaac Rodea was tied for eighth place with 3-under, while Tyler Schafer was tied for 21st as he was even with par. Hunter Reed rounded out the Long Beach State quintet as he sits in a tie for 35th place with 2-over.
Long Beach State leads LMU, which is 10-under for second place, and Pacific, which is 5-under for third place. Rounding out the top five after the first day of action are UC Irvine (+2) and Dixie State (+3).
The second round will be completed tomorrow morning before moving into the final round of competition.
