LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Athletics has added another key hire in Ryan Cook, who will serve as the department's Associate Athletic Director for the Beach Athletic Fund.
Cook has extensive experience in sponsorships, ticket sales, and fundraising in both the professional and collegiate space. Most recently, he was the head of development efforts at California State University San Bernardino, where he secured naming rights for both the arena floor as well as the student-athlete academic success center and procured several new scholarship endowments.
"I am thrilled to have Ryan Cook, join our team here at the Beach as our Associate AD for the Beach Athletic Fund," said Senior Associate Athletics Director Sean Ferrera. "Ryan is eager to start and will bring an immense amount of energy to our fundraising efforts at the Beach."
Cook has also worked in raising sponsorship revenue in collegiate athletes, with stops at Cleveland State and Seattle University, raising over $1 million dollars and raising sponsorship revenue over 40% at both universities.
In the professional ranks, Cook has worked in the NBA for the Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Hornets, and the Los Angeles Clippers, in the MLB with the Los Angeles Angels, and in minor league baseball with the High Desert Mavericks, Class A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners followed by the Texas Rangers during Cook's stint as General Manager.
"I cannot express my excitement in words and how honored I am to join Andy Fee and Beach Athletics," said Cook. "As a former student-athlete growing up locally, I have many fond memories competing on campus in the Walter Pyramid and the Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center and I am looking forward to creating many more as an integral piece of the Beach community."
