Ian Gilligan and Jack Ainscough tied to lead the Beach for a pair of top-25 performances

PARKER, Colo. – The Paintbrush Invitational concluded Tuesday afternoon with Long Beach State earning a top-five finish at the competitive Colorado Golf Course as the Beach were led by top finishers Ian Gilligan and Jack Ainscough.
Long Beach State was just six strokes out of second place as Colorado State won the tournament. Host Denver and Northern Colorado tied for second place, while North Dakota State took fourth.
Gilligan concluded his first collegiate tournament with a 10-over par showing as he finished in a tie for 22nd place. The freshman out of Reno, Nev., turned in his best round yesterday with a first round even par 72.
Joining Gilligan at the top of the LBSU leaderboard was Ainscough who shot 73-77-76 for a 226 10-over par.
Sophomore Isaac Rodea was a stoke behind Gilligan and Ainscough as he finished the final round with a 72 for par.
Freshman Steven Deutsch also shot even with par in the final round as he finished three-strokes behind Gilligan and Ainscough for a T36 showing.
Long Beach State will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 11 at the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev. Action at the two-day, three-round tournament can be followed live on golfstat.com.
