The Beach Welcomes Seven New Sprint Recruits for 2022 Season

The recruiting class features six freshmen and one transfer.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – There will be six new sprinters competing for Long Beach State this upcoming season. The incoming class features five freshmen and one transfer
"We're excited to introduce our newest members to the Beach Track and Field family," said sprints coach LaTanya Sheffield. "Each student athlete brings refreshing optimism and talent that will no doubt be a game changer and further our winning team culture. They come with diverse backgrounds and from varied geographical locations, all of which will add to the richness of our program."
Coach Sheffield continued, "They are eager to get the job done in the classroom and on the track. We look forward to creating a platform where their ambassadorship results in championship wins."
Women's Commits:
Ajah Anderson – Freshman; Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. (Upland HS)
Anderson joins the Beach with her brother Joseph after competing at Upland High School. Competing primarily in the Hurdle events, she finished fourth with a PR of 14.40 in the 100m Hurdles at the 2021 CIF Southern-Section Finals. She also notched a fifth place finish in the 300m Hurdles at the same CIF Finals.
Skye Harris – Freshman; Los Angeles, Calif. (University HS)
Harris comes to Long Beach State after a phenomenal career at Universal High School. At the 2019 CIF-City Section, she finished second in the 200m and third in the 100m. She was also named the 2018 and 2019 University HS Track and Field Most Valuable Athlete.
Men's Commits:
Joseph Anderson – Junior; Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. (Oregon)
Anderson transfers to Long Beach State after spending his first two collegiate years at the University of Oregon. He helped the Ducks win the Pac-12 Championship in his sophomore season and qualified for the NCAA Prelims in the 110m Hurdles. He will be competing alongside his sister, Ajah, in their first year with the Beach.
Jack De Bos – Freshman; Huntington Beach, Calif. (Edison HS)
De Bos joins the Beach after four years at Edison High School. Competing primarily in sprints, he set his personal bests as a senior with a 10.77 in the 100m, 22.00 in the 200m, 49.90 in the 400m, and 2:00.91 in the 800m.
Tristyn Flores – Freshman; Fontana, Calif. (Rancho Cucamonga HS)
Flores comes to LBSU after a late start to his track career, not competing until his senior year at Rancho Cucamonga High School. In that one year, however, he helped his team win the League and CIF Championships and finished third place in the state.
Malik Harness – Freshman; Long Beach, Calif. (Long Beach Poly HS)
Harness stays local after a phenomenal career at Long Beach Poly where he won the Moore League 100m and 200m Championships in his senior season. He also notched a sixth place finish in the 400m championship, helping his team to a runner-up finish in the CIF-Southern Section Team Finals. Both of his parents, his grandfather, and cousin are all CSULB alumni.
Kristofer Konradsson – Freshman; Murrieta, Calif. (Murrieta Mesa HS)
Konradsson will run his first season in black and gold after spending his high school career at Murrieta Mesa. A four-sport athlete throughout those four years, he went on to earn Athlete and Sprinter of the Year as a senior. He qualified for the California State Championships in the 400m and the 4x400m as well as winning the South Western League titles in the 200m and 400m.
