The senior is an indoor All-American in both the Long Jump and High Jump.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Senior Jason Smith became the first Long Beach State student-athlete to qualify for two events at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, and also becomes the first to be a double All-American as Smith earned the honor in both the long jump and the high jump.
The USTFCCCA announced their decision regarding All-America honors for Indoor Track and Field, which is ordinarily based on performance at the Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, that event was canceled at the last minute so the coaches association resolved that All-America honors would not be split into teams for 2020, but instead that all qualifiers "based on the post-medical scratches startlist for the national championships" would be named All-America.
Smith is the school record holder in the indoor long jump, and also qualified for the high jump and so became the first student-athlete on either the men's or the women's side to earn multiple All-America honors in indoor track and field.
Long Beach State has now had four indoor All-Americans in the last four years, with Kemonie Briggs earning the honor in 2019 in the long jump, while James Hubbard was an All-American in the weight throw.
