Long Beach State Men’s Golf tied for 12th at Lamkin San Diego Classic

Owen Avrit leads the Beach with a 4-over par showing as he’s tied for 31st
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – After two rounds at the Lamkin San Diego Classic, Long Beach State sits in a 12th place tie with Santa Clara and Sam Houston State. The Beach are shooting 17-over par after a tough second round.
Long Beach State opened the Lamkin San Diego Classic shooting 292 for 4-over par, but struggled in the second round firing a 301 for 13-over.
Freshman Owen Avrit is leading the Beach after the first 36 holes as he is shooting 4-over par after shooting a 75 in the first round and shaving two strokes off in the second round for a 73.
Clay Seeber shot a solid 71 for 1-under par in the first 18 holes, including birdies to place in a tie for 14th after the first round. However, Seeber shot 6-over par in the second round to drop down to T42 while shooting 5-over.
Seeber is tied for 42nd-place with teammates Trip Morris and Tyler Schafer. Morris fired a 74 and 75 in the first and second rounds, respectively for 5-over par heading into the final round, while Schafer shot even with par in the first round and 5-over in the second.
Rounding out the Beach lineup is senior Hunter Epson who shot 77 and 76 on the day for 9-over par.
Long Beach State will conclude the Lamkin San Diego Classic on Tuesday, March 10. Live stats will be available on GolfStat.com.
