Long Beach State Finishes 14th at Lamkin San Diego Classic

Tyler Schafer leads the way for the Beach with a 2-over par to finish T28
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – On the final day of the Lamkin San Diego Classic, Long Beach State shot a 286 for 2-under par to finish in 14th place and 15-over at the San Diego Country Club on Tuesday.
Tennessee was the top finisher in the Lamkin San Diego Classic as the Volunteers fired an 8-under par to win the event.
Sophomore Tyler Schafer was the leader for the Beach as he jumped unto 28th place after shooting a 69 in the final round. Schafer finished the tournament shooting a 218 (72-77-69) for 2-over par as he shaved three strokes off his game from yesterday.
Trip Morris also moved up eight spots as he finished 34th after shooting 74-75-70 for a 219 for 3-over par. Meanwhile, Owen Avrit placed 51st with a 5-over par, while Clay Seeber turned in a 7-over, and Hunter Epson carded a 12-over.
Long Beach State will be back in action on Monday, March 23 when the Beach travel to Eugene, Ore., to take part in the Duck Invitational. The final round will be played on Tuesday, March 24.
